Julie is a registered psychotherapist who provides one-on-one therapeutic services to teens (13+) and adults (18+). She works with clients experiencing a range of difficulties such as anxiety, stress, trauma, relational conflict, loss and change, suicidal ideation and self-harm, and inner turmoil such as low self-esteem, emotional dysregulation, and identity conflict.
Julie earned her Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree from Queen’s University and a Master of Counselling from Athabasca University. Julie maintains her knowledge in the mental health field through regular supervision, peer consultation, course work, and self-directed learning. Julie has recently completed training in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for PTSD and is engaged in ongoing trauma training.
Julie draws upon evidence-based therapies and interventions such as psychodynamic therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Art Therapy. She is also an active member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO), the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA), and the Canadian Art Therapy Association (CATA).
Julie is committed to her own mental health so that she can fully support others. Outside of work, Julie is passionate about spending time with her partner, family, and pup Milo. She also enjoys staying active through strength training, yin yoga, and exploring new hiking trails in the Ottawa area.
Julie offers virtual appointments on Mondays (12:00pm-6:00pm) and in-person sessions at the Ottawa Anxiety and Trauma Clinic on Wednesdays and Fridays (10:00am - 5:00pm).
Julie's fee for psychotherapy services is $180 per hour and may be paid via e-transfer. If you have benefit coverage, please consult with your insurance provider to ensure that your plan covers the therapeutic services of Registered Psychotherapists.
